We spent 2 nights in a nicely built and decorated chalet along the river. We hiked the 10 km long Olive trail which gently climbs up to the plateau and offers magnificent views of the mountains and valleys. The hike down the gorge was a bit rough especially with the chains over the last narrow rock pool... the only way to get through if you don't want to get wet! The second hike was on the Waterkloof trail absolutely rewarding with many spectacular rock pools to dip in. For the first 3 km, the trail follows the river with many big trees then a dry river bed. We decided to turn around at the cave which made a return trip of about 11 km... just enough to still be able to be fit to drive back home the next morning!
